Wallpaper – Omexco

Originating in China, wallpaper was produced from rice paper and used almost exclusively as a decorative element. Its outset in Europe was due to the relationship with the Arabs, who got the knowledge from the original creators. Initially with a theme limited to Chinese motifs — with the designation of chinoisserie —, it began to have new interpretations by the hands of Renaissance artists, between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Until the nineteenth century, the use of wallpaper was reduced to a narrow fringe of society. In turn, in the twentieth century, the generalization of manufacture and its use forced the emergence of new forms and patterns suited to various styles and tastes. In the twenty first century the use of new materials in the manufacture of wallpaper makes it an almost indispensable element in the decoration of a unique and personal space. Sirgaria Castro, for being a company of high added value for those who demand it, was the company chosen to officially and exclusively represent the Omexco brand in Portugal.
